Calorie Counting

I haven't counted calories nor do I keep track of carbs.. What is the best way to do this.. When counting calories.. Do you all just read the labels on the foods and write things down... How many calories do I need each day?

Sorry for the stupid questions.

You need to count carbs - if you're in induction - no more than 20 per day. As a guideline, 10 - 12x your PRESENT weight in calories. Use fitday.com as a guide - Have you read the book - it's important to do so. You need to know what the "allowed" foods are, etc.

COUNTING IS A MUST - FOR CARBS ANYWAY

I agree with Vikki - you must keep track of carbs because you'd be surprised how quickly they can add up!

As for calories - I do not go over 12X my present weight (1932) and actually stay around 1600-1800 for best weight/inches lost BUT I must keep carbs at around 18-21 otherwise I lose very very slowly.

As you continue on this way of eating for life you will see what foods cause you "stalls" or "slow you down" (like for me, nuts).

Water is also most important on this WOE - - 64 oz PLUS 8 oz for every 20 lbs you need to lose. Drinking too little water can also prevent you from losing weight so DRINK UP!
