New to the forum!

Hi everyone! This is Day 2 of my Induction and I'm hoping to stick with this WOL from here on out. I had tried this WOL about a month ago and got so lathargic with a severe headache that I started eating carbs like crazy and the feeling went away. BUT I can't seem to lose weight on the low-fat diet and with all the success stories that I've read concerning low-carb, and the fact that I really like "real" food, I thought I'd try one more time. Can anyone offer any suggestions on what could have happened when I got so lathargic? Any help is definitely appreciated. :spin:

Hi Mari,

A lot of things could have been happening. First, if you were in the induction portion of the program, then headaches and fatigue may be normal symptoms for detoxification. See the Atkins book for more info. on what to expect. It is possible that you were not taking enough supplements or ingesting enough water? This will also cause a lot of symptoms. The best thing to do is to go to the book and make a list of everything that you need to do during induction and make sure you are doing it everyday. This includes eating enough calories, restricting your carbs, and not eating faux carb foods.

But the best advice is to start a journal right now, because then if you get into a tough spot again, the members can look at exactly what you have been doing and assist you in evaluating what the problem may be. Best of luck!
