What is your mini goal???

Hi everyone -

I'm finally down another pound and it is so very exciting! :cheer:

I know a lot of us have mini goals and I was interested in what they are and how realistic our goals actually are....

My goal is down under 160 by the end of the year!

I'm going to find this thread at the new year (if not sooner - wish wish - work work) to update that I made it. How about you?!?!?!?

maggie3456 Wed, Nov-13-02 07:55

good morning

Mine would be to get out off the 50s and down to 249 by new years....I want to make that doctors scale go back a notch :)
Good luck on your goal!!!!!!
take care

We can do this Maggie!

Count me in...

I just lost another lb, too, which broke a barrier I've had for over a year. I'm shooting to be below 140 by Christmas. I think I got down to 140 in January 2000, so that's my mini-goal. That was the lowest I had been in probably 5 yrs.

That's a good point, Maggie, not having to move that big hunk of lead over that vast expanse from 100 to 150 is psychologically gratifying!

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
WE CAN DO THIS!!

My mini goal is 185...

It would change my whole attitude about this year!! Since APRIL I have been on Atkins...you would think I'd be down 40 pounds by now, but I'm STILL working on the original 10. I lost 6, gained 3, lost 1, etc.

As of 10 days ago, I was 200. As of this morning, almost 190. All I want to see is something BELOW 187 because that was the lowest I saw since I started. I can't seem to break through that "setting" on my body. I know once I push through this place on the scale, I should be on my way.

Please, please, please... :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

My have two mini goals:

1. Don't take my stress and aggrevations out on food. Eating won't make me feel better

2. Don't live by the numbers on the scale - they are just numbers.

If I can accomplish these two mini goals the rest will be easy.

My mini-goal is to fit into some of my nice clothes that are currently in storage under the bed :) so I can wear them to my Christmas trip to Las Vegas.

My second goal is while on the trip, not to cheat, gain and no longer fit into the clothes I brought with me :)

My mini goal is to have visible tricep muscles. They are there now, but I have to flex.

Not sure how realistic this is; my body tends to change dramatically then hold for a while every 6 weeks. I have 8 weeks 'til the possible-strapless-New-Years-Ball and I'm going to give it my all.

Mini goal..

Well, sinsce I'm so darn close, I'd have to say that passing the 100lbs lost milestone is my next mini goal.

Light a candle and say a little prayer for me...

My Mini Goal

I would like to see 160 by New Years day.

mini-goal

My mini-goal was going to be 180 by xmas... but now that I'm doing BFL, I'm not so sure how the numbers on the scale are going to be changing (said 197 this morning.. first time I've weighed all week), SO I've switched my goal to be a size 14 by xmas!!!!! Yeay!!!

Nat, strapless New Year's is awaiting you. Visible triceps *sigh* I can only dream about it. I carry a lot of weight in my arms... but I can already feel the muscle gaining underneath the flub... and I'm only 2 weeks into Challenge 1... I figure by the time I've been at it as long as you have, I might start allowing myself to dream about triceps! (Do you have the dress already????)

alibubble Wed, Nov-13-02 09:31

To lose 2lbs more by beginning December.
Then not worrying about putting them back on because of parties and Xmas. Food is not a problem but if you think I'm partying with no booze !!

Cheers
Ali

*lol* Kate, I've had this outfit for months and months. It's a long skirt w/ a tiny little chemise - both in black taffeta. The skirt is a bit big, but I'm thinking it can be taken in, the chemise is a little tight but should fit (or need to be taken in) in 8 weeks. Goining sleeveless has long been a goal of mine, it's taken a long time, but it's worth the effort.

How about a measurement's mini goal instead of a scale one? Afterall, the scale is evil, right?

DDMariana Wed, Nov-13-02 10:04

Hey...these ALL look do-able...even mine!

Let's all stay focused here, and check back in! Trust me, if I hit 187 any time soon...you'll hear from me!!

Evil Scales

Nat,

Yup... I'm finally coming to that conclusion myself. My 4 week mark will be Thanksgiving day... I think I'll be able to have a better grip on the changes by then to be able to establish a new mini-goal. No frame of reference for me at this point. Size 14 would work for me though... we'll see how they're fitting come turkey day.

Meanwhile, back at the batcave, the outfit sounds GORGEOUS! Skirts are SOOOO easy to get taken in... and I'm fully confident that the top will be absolutely smashing by NYE! Have you thought about adding a pair of black gloves? The ones that come to mid forearm would look fabulous with what you've described... AND show off those TRIs!!!!!!

RCFletcher Wed, Nov-13-02 10:58

My mini goal is to get the first number on my scales to be 7 and not 8. I've been stuck at 80 point something for so long I just wonder if my scales have a 7 on them!

My mini goals

I want to be a member of a gym by the new year and I would like to be in the 280s by that time too ;)

See you in the New Year :D

To change to the next lower pants size, or even fit into the same size without elastic waistbands.

AnnetteW Thu, Dec-05-02 06:04

I think lc'ers have the smallest short term goals I've ever seen (compared to when I read the Weight Watchers goal). I think we realize this is REAL fat we are losing and it takes a long time.

Mine is to be below 150 by this Saturday (end of induction). I was a 150 yesterday, back up to 151 today....but I know I can do it.

After that I have to be realistic and hope for maybe up to a 3 pound loss before Jan 1. So I will aim for a good solid 147 by Jan 1.

asugar Thu, Dec-05-02 06:17

My mini-goal is always to lose that next pound but now I'm adding another mini-goal. My current weight is 163 and today is 12/5/02. I would like to weigh 163 or less on 01/05/03. Christmas is looming less than 3 weeks away and if I can hold my own in spite of overwhelming obstacles  I will be one happy low carber. Now, how's THAT for a realistic goal? :D

Mini-Goal by 2003

To reduce my waist size by an inch so that I'll finally fit comfortably into the size 14 pants that I bought. I'd like to see the 160s on the scale (haven't seen them since 1989!), too, but I'd love to lose inches even more.

DDMariana Thu, Dec-05-02 11:17

Boy...what an eye opener I just had. On November 13th I wrote that my mini goal was to reach 185.

Well, this morning, Dec 5th, I weighed 179. I've been on the "heartbreak diet" which isn't exactly the way I wanted to lose it, but hell, it's gone now...

So my new mini goal is to NOT REGAIN the lost pounds when my appetite returns full force. Want to still be below 180 by the end of the year. No more loss is necessary, just want my body to recover from starvation mode without a rebound!

Any suggestions on how to do this will be greatly appreciated!!!

lisak17 Thu, Dec-05-02 17:37

Right now I am at 130 and my mini goal is to see my scale go below the 130 mark - even if it is only 1 pound. I would be so happy to see the 120's again.

Dieting is so crazy sometimes. We always tell ourselves that we will never allow ourselves to go beyond that horrible number we have set in our heads. Then, we get to that number, we say "well, i will never get to that next bad number we have set in our minds, etc. etc. Now we are trying to get down to a number that at one time was a bad number in our head. Am i making any sense? :)

I want to really get out of the 130's. Am I the only one so crazy and consumed by the number on the scale?

Kristine Thu, Dec-05-02 17:41

Hi Donna. I honestly don't think you're in starvation mode. I'm starting to really dislike that term. It isn't like a switch that gets flipped if you fall below x number of calories. If your body was in that state, you'd know it. You'd be fatigued, sleepy, cold, have a slower heart rate, icy fingers and toes, and you'd probably be starving with a capital S.

From what you described, you're in the opposite state. You're in a state of extreme anxiety, so your metabolism is *up*, if anything. That's why you've dropped that weight, and that's how amphetamines cause weight loss. You're running on stress hormones.

Just MHO - best of luck keeping it off, even though the circumstances weren't happy. :(

Oh - and my mini-goal is to remain 135-140 at the end of the dreaded junk-food-saturated holidays. :D

Tiggerdy Fri, Dec-06-02 11:18

So hard to choose just one...

So I'll share a few! ;)

I'd absolutely LOVE to be in the 260s. Depending how well this weekend's weigh-in goes, I may even shoot for the top-half of the 250s (I know, psycho)!

But enough of the scales... my more realistic goal is to be one pants size smaller. I'm down 2 sizes so far and the size I'm in now is getting baggy-- heightening my excitement at moving down another size! It's just amazing that clothes seem to fit completely different while doing this WOL and exercising.

Clothing aside... my ultimate goal is to remain stedfast in this WOL during the evil season of sweets. I made it through T-giving (thank goodness for lo-carb cheesecake and ThickenThin/Not Starch) and hope to be strong again at Christmas & New Year's! Just think of all the gingerbread men & women who won't be "sacrificed" this year since I'm lo-carbing... ;)

Good luck all!

My mini-goal

is to fit into my size 12 blue jeans by February. I know from doing this life-style before that after the first week or so, my weight-loss slows dramatically, so realistically it will probably take that long to lose another 10 lbs (which is the weight at which I should be able to wear them). If it happens before then, hurrah!!

Mini goal is 5lbs...down to 160.

Mini mini goal is 2lbs...down to 163 :D
