Mike's Low Carb Fried Tuna Patties (Atkins Induction Legal)
Tuna Patties
Carbs - 1.5/2 I got tired pretty quickly of Tuna Salad. So I decided to mix a few 'legal' Atkins Induction ingredients together. Before you say yuck try it, not fishy at all and delicious. I was really unsure until I tasted it, really tasty and filling. They can be spiced to taste with whatever seasoning you like the is Induction Legal. INGREDIENTS Egg, Raw - 1 (1 Carb?) Tuna - 6oz can (Drain the Tuna as best you can) Cream Cheese - 1oz (1 Carb) INSTRUCTIONS Get a pan with a lump of butter heated (Medium-ish Heat). In a bowl mix all three ingredients thoroughly. Make 3 equally sized patties in the pan. Fry each side until lightly brown/cooked. If they look a little mushy in the middle just lightly press down with a Pancake Flipper, turn down the heat and let them cook just a little longer. Additional Options Mayonnaise - 1oz (Hellmans is about 0.5g Carb, don't be fooled by the nutrition information saying 0, there is sugar in the ingredients. Quoted from Canadian Hellmans Label) The Mayonnaise is used as a topping after they are cooked and on your plate. |
It sounds good to me. I am tired of tuna fish as well. Thanks
oh i wish i had cream cheese in the house im getting ready to eat tuna now
I will post some pictures tomorrow when I make it again. Its nothing flashy but very satisfying.

Updated Cooking Info. About cooking heat. Mine screwed up today because the heat was too low. If it is too low they will stick and fall apart and not get crispy.
COOKING: Set heat as high as you can without burning the butter. |
Thanks! I can't wait to try this! :)
a little lemon zest added with really makes these sing!
Just made these! I added a little dill and a little minced red onion and celery.
Yum!!!! :) |

Tried it, loved it! Thanks
this are for sure going my list to try! LOVE the idea of the red onion and celery!!!
I'm gonna be a bachelorette this weekend and think I'll try these! They sure sound simple and tasty.
these are great and SO easy to make! I chopped some green onion in mine and made my own tartar sauce - it was yummy!
Thanks! |
Made these for dinner - used a scoop of a pre-chopped trinity mix (Beez you're probably the only one who knows what I'm talking about! onion, celery and green pepper for everyone not in Louisiana...) in it and some oil packed tuna. I think I'm going to switch to the oil packed for everything, it tastes so much better!
Anyway, these were fantastic! I made one too thin and had trouble flipping it, but the other two came out perfectly. Wish I'd taken a picture but my friend borrowed my camera and my phone, well let's not discuss my phone's camera. I added some garlic powder and Penzey's greek seasoning - be sure to use lots of butter when you make these so they don't stick. Skipped the mayo because they were delish with just a squeeze of lemon juice on top. Thanks for the recipe Mike! Think I might try this with salmon next time... |
great recipe! I sprinkled old bay on top and mixed some with mayo for a dip.
next time I make this i'll just add the old bay before I fry them! My daughter loved it too! |
I have been making these fried tuna patties for years. Each time I make them I always change up the ingredients for a different twist and to keep it new and appetizing.Try it with any number of different herbs and seasonings. Add a slice of cheese after flipping once and both sides are brown about a minute more and presto it is almost like a grilled cheese sandwich, steaming hot...its the best.
Tried it with celery seed and worcestershire sauce...yup. Really good.
i'm craving tuna today. think i will give these a try using the basic recipe with the trinity & some old bay seasoning in the mix. ooh...and maybe with some lc onion rings as a side. sounds like a good friday dish to me. :D
Tried these tonight, but used one egg and about 1/4 cup of parmasan cheese. MMMMM....yummy and so quick!
Old post but I'm going to try these now. Sounds good! :)
I made these today. I messed up by adding the mayonnaise to the mixture, but they still tasted really good. I cut them out in a little circles using the top of a small glass. I plan on adding a little cheese to resemble somewhat like a sandwich.
I also added some chopped up celery to the mix to give it some crunch. I think I'll be freezing some of these, since I finally put to use my 16 oz. can of tuna and ended up doubling the recipe. This was a very good recipe! Thanks for sharing. :) |
I'm making these again tonight. :yum: They were so good even when I messed up the recipe. I think I'll keep the recipe messed up. :p
I'm thinking about adding some grilled onions and/or some chopped bacon pieces, too. |
OMG!!!!! this is the first time I have had tuna heated through since I was a kid...i used to hate it it is soooooooo good! NOM
ha...my mom used to make us tuna melts as kids. But I liked them, then as well as now. :) I miss tuna cassarole. My husband can't stand it so we never have it. One day I'm goign to splurge and make one...yes, with potatoe chips on top. :)

This is really a really creative idea! i guess we all get bored huh? I remember my grandma use to make "salmon patties" that these remind me of, i think i'ma tweek the recipe to include just a few crushed up pork rinds and switch it from tuna to canned salmon, getting something crispy sounds nice, in addition i think the pork rinds will give it that extra "crabcake" type consistancy. Thanks! :) |
Thanks For bumping this one back up. Was just on here trying to figure out what I could make for lunch with what is in the house, and this sounds like a win
another one that I've got to try love all the ideas on here
Thank you for posting this! I make tuna cakes fairly often, but I use egg and coconut or almond flour instead of cream cheese since I'm Paleo-ish. I made some this morning and an onion-lemon aioli for on top. YUM!
sounds really good. sue
