Are you happy too?

What is it about breaking a certain weight that makes us so happy? I was estatic when I broke 200 and hit 199.

This morning I weighed and hit 188.5 - broke the '190' barrier and I was thrilled. It was like I started at 231 and the first time I got really happy was the 199 - now I am happy every freaking 10 pounds!!

I'm NOT complaining about happy - don't get me wrong :nono: .

Is this happening to anyone else?

she_laughs Mon, Mar-29-04 18:29

I don't wait for 10 pounds. Every pound I (think I) lose, I do a little dance :yay: :agree: :wiggle: . Of course, sometimes it comes back five minutes later, and I stomp my feet instead  . I think my downstairs neighbor must really wonder what goes on up here.

njcowgirl Mon, Mar-29-04 19:30

i celebrate every pound lost!!!! lol! so i have really been celebrating!!!!!

Britgrl Mon, Mar-29-04 19:33

Njcowgirl, just curious, are your weight stats a typo or for real? If they are for real, WOW.

I agree with you everytime I enter into the next set of 10's it feels so good and makes me want to celebrate

freckles Mon, Mar-29-04 19:45

I celebrate every pound too. I had not heard of onederland when I got to it...and don't remember it being a big deal...well, any bigger than the other pounds. It seems like the 10 lb. marks have been the most exciting...170, 160. I am VERY excited about the prospect of getting to 150, though.

Paris Mon, Mar-29-04 19:47

I celebrate every little pound too! Even when I am having a bad day in every other respect I can always think on the fact that I am being very proactive with my health.

AFwife Tue, Mar-30-04 01:35

I celebrate every pound but when I hit that next 10 pound mark like this morning I'm at 230 so I' know I'll be in the 220's this week, AH what a great feeling to see those bigger numbers left behind.

I'm still in shock that I've lost 50 pounds as of today.

:cheer:

DianaO Tue, Mar-30-04 05:37

I love it. It sets my mood for the day!

Thumbelina Tue, Mar-30-04 07:16

Just losing weight in general has made me a much happier person. I like the feeling that I am now in control of my body and that I treat it with respect! I like getting up in the morning and being happy about what I see in the mirror, as opposed to 4 months ago when I couldn't stand to look at myself. I like having a plan for eating that makes my body feel alive and healthy, instead of going through the drive through twice a week and stuffing myself with french fries.

At the beginning I focused on my goal weight but I find I don't do that as much any more, because I found that my happiness really lies not in any particular weight (although, yes, I would still like to lose more!), but in the wonderful feeling that I have regained control over my eating habits and my body.

sybs Tue, Mar-30-04 07:46

agreed! I can't wait to get to 185...I think I'll stop weighing then...we'll see!

pookalee Tue, Mar-30-04 08:15

I am thrilled with every pound lost, but I think the 10 lb. marks are sooooo special. I cant wait to get into the 150's!

Dewi Tue, Mar-30-04 08:24

I was so happy to get under 300. Now I love every pound that melts away. When I hit my 10lbs marks I buy myself something new, off the clearance rack, in a size smaller. It helps motivate me to continue and get myself into that smaller size. This week's purchase was a nice dress shirt from Casual Corner Woman which I paid only $6.53 for. Those are the best buys.

bevbme Tue, Mar-30-04 08:49

I believe there are milestones that should be celebrated-We have even named themtwo-ter ville and one-der land..
Im still in denial I even went over 200lb. Can't discuss #'s anywhere but here-they are so out of the ballpark for co-workers or family.Still Progress is progress-be happy for all your successes.

SusanKH Tue, Mar-30-04 08:52

I think I will probably jump for joy when the scale hits 199. Being a middle-aged, hypothyroid, diabetic woman, I lose slowly. And there's just something so cerebrally fantastic about being under 200 pounds. I think it's those doctor scales that have the little weights in the 50 pound implements. How grand to watch them move the 150 pound nugget over, instead of the 200 pound nugget.

Itty Tue, Mar-30-04 09:00

Hi

I think we all set goals for ourselves in every aspect of life...oh, I hope to own a jeep liberty one day... can't wait for the sping collection at suchandsuch... Maybe one day I'll own that cute little house/cottage that I saw five years ago...

This goal, we are in almost complete control!

I said that I looked forward to reaching 150, and dreading to reach 170, my highest weight. Then I wished for my previous low, 143.5. Got it! Then to be somewhere near 135 is great, and my goal is to get to 130 by July.

Cheer every darn pound! Good for you passing 199... holy cow, you're 188 now! GOGOGOGOGOGOGO!

I have read all your posts and looked at your stats - you guys are amazing - what success you have had!!!

Thanks for participating in this thread - I am looking forward now to seeing the 170's!!

Good Luck to All :wiggle:

Birddog Tue, Mar-30-04 13:18

I was ecstatic with every pound I lost. It was exciting knowing that I was keeping my promise to myself. Congrads to you. :yay:

akyser Tue, Mar-30-04 14:23

Wow you all have had great success, I hope I have as much luck as you all have. I'm loosing slowly. Maybe I'm suppose to do that. My Husband has lost twice as much as I have. I hate TOM too. A few days ago I was down to 145lbs. and now that TOM started I'm up to 148. I didn't even know I was going to start either. I never know since I've been on this diet. Last month it was about a week late and this month only 3 days late. That's a hard part about it. I hope it all goes away as soon as TOM is over. TOM makes it hard to do arobics too. Which is what I do for exercise. It's worth it to loose the weight and when you weigh in and even if it's half a pound gone. YOu're like ALRIGHT!!!!!

lightforce Tue, Mar-30-04 14:51

Every pound lost is an accomplishment. Celebrate and love yourself for doing it.

KIDBXRS Tue, Mar-30-04 14:58

Oh Lord yes every time I loose a pound I am happy. I just recently seen 184.0 for the day. I am currently back upto 187 as of this morning. Not sure the deal there but I know that I will be back. I can't wait to see 179, this is great. I never thought I would see the 190 then I sure thought I would give up before I saw the 180 well now I am fairley confident that I will see the 170 but it sure is taking a while. I have been in the 80 for a while now.

3shewolf8 Tue, Mar-30-04 18:51

I celebrate all of the pounds lost. I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror!! What a change!! I only have a few more to go, and then WHAT A PARTY!! (Lo-carb of course!!) haha

ACFPerder Tue, Mar-30-04 20:05

I have not lost much, so there is not much to celebrate. One thing that I have noticed is that with this WOE I seem to be more patient, more calm, than previously.

Maybe this is all in my head, but I think it is actually happening. Atkins may not ne totally responsible but I think it has made a major contribution. Sorry for rambling.

Archie Tue, Mar-30-04 20:56

Hey ACFPerder!
Congrats on your nice start! Atkins works believe me (and the thousands of others on this site who have lost tons of weight!). Just do a strict induction and as your appetite and cravings disappear you will be able to control your carb intake, calorie intake and the pounds will come off!

FENCINGMOM Wed, Mar-31-04 08:44

I Can't Wait To Reach 199 That Is My First Goal. Can't Remember The Last Time I Weighed Under 200 Lbs. I'm Happy With Every Pound But Leaving A Set Of Numbers Is Exciting. Good Luck To Everyone.
