Do you guys feel this strongly about this forum as I do?

Good think I am back on induction getting rid of the carb cravings or right now I would be diving into the candy and chips:

I am taking the Christmas tree down today, packing away all the decorations and ornaments my sons had made us with their pictures on them and out of popcycle sticks and more when they were young and in school. Hand-made ornaments my mom made me that are so beautiful, ornaments my dh and I had given to each other when we were only 18, each ornament has a special meaning to it and touches me as I put them in their box for safe keeping till next year.

The holidays are over, winter can be a little bit of a "downer" I am glad I have some weight off, and I am glad I am stuffing the fats in my face instead of the carbs today and boy I am glad I have this forum...... , this forum can be a real life saver, a place to come "quickly, as fast a computer mouse" for support.

You guys are great!

Do you guys feel this strongly about this forum as I do?

I'm pretty new around here, but I can't express how much this site means to me! There've been times that I've read posts and cried because I felt badly for people, I've had tears in my eyes because I appreciated the responses and support; the time that people took to read and respond to concerns, I've certainly had a lot of laughs  because people here have a great sense of humor, and I've learned a LOT and have gotten good information!! I don't know anyone who is lcing. Most people I know ridicule this woe. :nono: That's okay, I know this is the right thing for me. So yes, I feel very strongly about this forum. Glad I could share this. :wiggle:

fishie48 Fri, Jan-02-04 16:13

I would not be still doing Atkins if not for this forum and the challenge/buddy threads. I was getting frutrasted about 7 weeks into this with a stall and found this forum in April. It has probably saved my life.

djcarbno Fri, Jan-02-04 16:23

WOW fishie48...I am amazed at your loss..I am just going to start induction on Sunday and hope to follow it to the letter - any advice to a newbe?

golflady59 Fri, Jan-02-04 17:16

Hi my name is Donna and I am addicted to the low carb forum. I can see no way to break this addiction. If I do break the addiction I am afraid I will gain weight. I have to have it :)

BlitzedAng Fri, Jan-02-04 17:16

I prefer to call the forum a new circle of friends :)

jmayeux79 Fri, Jan-02-04 17:31

I love this forum! I only wish I had more time to come on here between being a mom and with school. This forum has prevented many a cheat. As a matter of fact I am back on this WOE starting this morning. (Its hard to recover from those holiday cheats!!)

amdevelish Fri, Jan-02-04 17:33

Defintely!! I have found so much support and encouragement here!! I genuinely treasure my new "circle of friends" :)

Mossling Fri, Jan-02-04 17:51

I am an addict. Once, I was addicted to cigarettes. Contained and controlled that addiction. Once, I was addicted to carbohydrates. Am containing and controlling that addiction, one day at a time. Now, I am addicted to this forum. Must contain and control myself, or I'd be on here 24/7.

Of course, if I hadn't found this forum, I might not be containing and controlling the carb addiction... :)

My non-forum friends have been very understanding about my lc WOE.....but I fear they think I have lost my mind when I am continually referring to what someone on this board has said or done! My sweet husband has knuckled under and now says things like "Would you mind asking your friends on the forum what is the best time of year to spray carpenter bee tunnels?"

Really, this whole forum constantly amazes, delights, and warms my heart. I'm sure I would have wandered off into the land of fried chicken long ago were it not for this place.

I have learned so much just by reading the posts here. And the support is incredible. I have not cheated on many occasions remembering things that were posted here. I have profound admiration for many of you who have accomplished so much and look forward to reading about the progress of others.
Thanks to all of you for your help, kindness and support.

Kay, tell your husband:

For clients with recurring and heavy carpenter bee problems, especially those living in log cabins or cedar homes, a spring service just as the carpenter bees become active in May is best.

lol

TarHeel Fri, Jan-02-04 19:19

Why, thank you! We did it back in June, but then forgot to do the packing with steel wool bit in September. I'll remind him about spring application.

Dayle49 Fri, Jan-02-04 19:27

This forum is great. :yay: I have picked up so many good ideas and recipes for foods that I wanted to eat but really shouldn't. It has helped me stay on this WOE and not feel cheated. :agree: The people are very supportive too!! You're all Great!!

ItsTheWooo Fri, Jan-02-04 19:34

Absolutely! This forum has been an invaluable fount of information and support for me, I would never have done as well as I have without it.

judyr Fri, Jan-02-04 19:48

This forum has encouraged me when the going is slooow and rejoyced with me when I finally lose some. People who are not doing this WOL just don't understand the same way.

allibaba Fri, Jan-02-04 20:47

I'm quite fond of this forum also :) . The recipes and support are great!

I don't know what I would have done without this forum. It is the only place I could get lowcarb support, encouragement and advice. I come here every day and sometimes I even post! Thank you all for being here.

I love this bar.......come as you arrrrrrrrrrre....
(Ok, that's for the country fans who know what I'm singing about)

I like this forum too! My friends think I'm nuts when I talk about things that have gone on on the board. My LC Singles in particular keep me online. A sense of humor goes a long way to keep me on track.

Toby Keith...... I love him :rheart: :rheart:

We were just watching his video of that song.... boy, he does it for me!!! :agree:

Does that blue moon ever shine on you and I'm so happy I can't stop crying and who's that man, are my favorites....................

SeeMyself Tue, Jan-06-04 13:30

Anyway, back to why I started this new post, (kinda like I love this bar ;) I Do Love this Bar!

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't learn something here, I check in each day to see whats happening and "everyday" I learn something new!

I just get thinking to myself that I am finally understanding this wol when I realize I still have so much more to learn. The wonderful "tips" and "experience" the people here have to offer, they give you a "different way of looking at something" when you couldn't "see it" for yourself.

And, beyond the woe, the support and compassion, new friends, and just silly chit chat is good for the soul. Comfort and tears for those who have had some problems outside this wol, a good laugh for some really great stories and jokes.

I love this place! :D

Mabel Tue, Jan-06-04 18:09

I cruise thru the forum every day at lunchtime during the week, and I always find something/someone interesting. I have never ever been interested in an internet forum or chat room before. The people here are polite, respectful, supportive, and just plain NICE! Thanks all!

TarHeel Tue, Jan-06-04 18:13

SeeMyself: I have also been reminded of this forum when hearing the song "I love this bar". A lot of similarities!

I wanted to bumb this thread back into the living....

I logged off this forum a week ago, I hadn't posted since then, I was feeling down about life, with myself and my heart and spirit were kind of dissappearing. I am not sure why.... and then again, for a lot of reasons.

I noticed when I talked with my dh he's great, but guys want to "fix it", like they do a car, sometimes we just need a shoulder or ear to just listen to us, sometimes its soothing just to read "others" postings.

I find/found that it's nice to come here to the forum, I like it here, I like being able to share what everyone else is feeling along with what I am feeling. Years back we use to journal in our diaries at home, but our diaries didn't answer back, being able to post and chat and get responses here on the forum can be very enlightening, soothing, helpful, very much needed. I still feel very strong about this forum.

SusanKH Thu, Mar-18-04 16:30

Ya'll all said it for me - I love this place and it's people. Where else could you have all of these nonjudgemental, informative, and supportive friends?

elmuyloco5 Thu, Mar-18-04 16:58

I agree with you all completely!!!! I've been so happy that I found each and every one of you! I look forward to coming here everyday and seeing if someone has said hi in my journal, and to read the posts. It's been helpful in so many ways I can't even tell you. Thank you to everyone one of you on here....and I hope I've never upset anyone with any of my posts as I truely value you all very much!!!!

jbird Thu, Mar-18-04 19:51

Agree!!

I not only love this forum I'm getting a tad concerned I'm addictied to it. I now keep my laptop on in the kitchen on the counter and I just keep going over to it through out the day whenever the kids are coloring, watchin' a show, or aren't needing something.

I've learned sooooooo much. I can not get enough of all the stuff that people know about lcing. And yes everyone is so nice too.

Jenny
