Starting over Challenge! We can do it!
 
Howdy all this is not a we want to lose X amount or wieght by a date.
this is just starting over for those of us who have lost our way in the high carb world we live in.

you are welcome to join anytime.

if down the road we have a slip no big deal we will pick ourselves up and brush off and start again the next day.

you are welcome to post what ever you want, your menu or how you fought off that evil high carb craving, or have you tripped and fell and let us pick you up and help you start again.

Re-started on Sunday...am eager and ready to go after slacking off for so long. 29th Birthday on Thursday so a little afraid of the temptations. Day two is almost over with much success!!! 84 pounds to go!!!

Hi Petcrazed - I go to Cal Poly, going to be a high school history teacher. You? Yes I know they are so expensive. They are worse in the Bay Area though, which is where I am from. My parents are still trying to buy a home up there. Today I did ok, it is hard for me to stay under 20 carbs. I am going between 25-30 at best. I need to give up some of my extras. Working on it. for an update ....

i have been in reinduction now for 3 days and i has lost 1 pound. before i fell off the wagon i was 177 now I am 176. which is great since 3 days ago i was at 180! :D

i am tring to decide how long this induction will last will it be 1 week or 2?
i am really missing my nuts and warps

Hi there! Mind if I join your re-induction club? I had done great when I started in the begining of March and here I am totaly screwed up by the Easter holiday! ugh. I need to start this thing over right now! (cooking dinner as we type, chicken and broc.) I hope to get back into Ketosis and get my blood sugars back in control (I am diabetic) I did so well in the first 2 weeks that I actualy had to have my meds lowered! So here I go! On the road to feeling better!

What is up with me? I am not losing. I am consuming over 20 carbs a day, more like 30, I know that's what the problem is. I exercize doing 1 hour of cardio 4 days a week and 2 hours of weight training per week though. I have to get tough again with my carbs. Ughhh. A little self talk there I guess. I am more tired lately too and have gained 7 pounds in the last 2 months. What is this crap? I worked out good today and my carb count so far is 18g and 1450 calories. It is only 5:30 though so hopfully I stay good for the rest of the day. Petcrazed I am a history major, sociology minor. Good luck all!

I am starting over too. I have been draging my feet because i HATE being in ketosis. Everything taste awlfull especially the most important thing..water.
I have a question. I first started LCing last year, lost about 15 pounds and loved it, fell off and started again in Oct lost the same and of course, fell off. Now here I am again. I have noticed that it does not take me long to get back into ketosis, like 2 days and I am there, do you think that the mind has something to do with this? I mean, I am expecting it so is my system remembering and automaticaly doing this???? Just a thought.
Also, how do you deal with the "taste" of ketosis?

hi all I dont have a taste when i am in ketosis so cant help you there. and i doubt you body remembers but it miget just be you have less glycogen stored since you have done it before in the last 6 months.

Jenn i would try to keep your carbs to 20 are you eating any low carb things like bars or ice cream? that might be it.

ok here is my update i am down another pound today so i am at 175 i will change my stats when i am sure this will stick.
this induction is hard i would love to just be able to have nuts but having lost 5 pounds in 3 days i will for go the nuts to see how low this induction will get me.:)

I am 2 pounds up today - 146. I am hoping that it's because my TOM will be here next week and because of the 2 hours a week weight training that I started 4 weeks ago (muscle weights more than fat blah blah blah). If anything else has to do with it it is probably because I had been cheating too often lately, not horribly but more than I wanted to (until I decided to shape up last Monday). I just got back from the gym and I am feeling pretty good. I am not gonna let the weight thing bother me too much because I need to give this some time, I just decided to really get back on track last Monday so I think my body needs time to adjust. Getting stressed out doesn't speed up weight loss, in fact I think I read somewhere that it can hinder weight loss. Anyway, good luck everyone, we are in this together.

I haven't lost or gained any weight since re-starting induction 3 days ago. I've been really good though and haven't gone over 20 carbs. I also worked out two out of the three days so I'm feeling a little better ... I just wish the scale would show me something.

guidosgirl -- when I get that taste in my mouth, I drink lots and lots of water ... that usually helps

Hello all. I am not going near my scale as of yet. I will start working out at the gym this week to. I am having a hard time saying no to sugar free jello with whip cream. I spose there are worse vices then this lol. I did good today so I am pleased. I have that headache that came when I did induction last time. So i know im on the right road. Glad to hear you are doing good Pet!

What's wrong with sugar free jello? I'd go for it but maybe I am not as strict. I am doing better today, making better food choices and feeling good. I am down to 145 today so that's good. I really want to meet my unofficial "9 pounds in 9 weeks challenge" but now I have to lose 10 in 7 1/2 weeks. Wish me luck! Good luck to you all too.

Hey All!

I am down about three pounds already since starting on Sunday!!! Yah!!! And am so proud of myself...it's my birthday today and I have been craving cake for a week now...but, I held out...I'm not going to do that to myself. No cake for me thanks!

Hope I can keep this attitude up!

Kennyb535 - Happy Birthday!!! and Congratulations on staying away from the cake. Sweets are always hard for me to resist!

I'm getting a little frustrated myself ... still haven't dropped a pound since I started re-induction on Monday. I don't know why or what I'm doing wrong. I drink a ton of water and I keep my carbs under 20grams?????? Hopefully I'll start to see some results soon too.

Yeah resisting birthday cake on your birthday? I have major respect for that. Clim, don't worry... I have actually gained a pound since I started last Monay...it takes time. Do your part and eventually your body will do its part. Maybe TOM next week? Mine is so I am not worried as of yet. I am trying to cut back my calories but I do get hungry often so when I get hungry I eat and go over what I wanted to. I eat a lot of fat so I dunno what it is.

I have now lost all 3 lbs I had gained when I went on my lil holiday binge. So like Pet I am starting right where I was!

Way to go with the no cake!!! I soo could not do it (i think). Im so proud of you!
I had another great day. I did so well. My blood sugars are back down and aside from a nasty cold bug I feel ok!

howdy all! well lat night i had a slip up i had a total of 53 carbs :(
my DH brough home the new low carb delite pizza and i had 3 pieces. but even with the slip up i am down another pound today to 173 so this has me at a net loss of 4 pound from where i was 177 when i feel off the wagon, and a 7 pound loss since i started on sunday at 180 pound.
so i am feeling pretty good pluse i just tried on a pair of gap pants that were a size 14 and they fit!!! up till now i have been waring lane bryant and thier sizes are bigger then normal stores. I AM SO HAPPY!

Fantabulus, isn't it great to know that you've lost the extra weight from your holiday binge. You're well on your way! Hopefully you'll continue with your success next week.

Kennyb536 - how was your birthday?? What did you treat yourself instead of birthday cake? Sounds like you have a really positive attitude ... keep it up.

Beachjen- How did things go for you today??? I hope they are going well. How's school???

As for me, I'm finally back in ketosis. I can't weigh myself until Sunday, but hopefully I will have lost a little weight by then. I've been really good though and I'm feeling great ... my energy is up and my appetite is going down. Tomorrow might be a little tough for me though b/c I'm going to a dinner party for my friend's birthday. People always give me shit when they see I'm not eating carbs... they try to force them on me. I'm going to try to be discrete about it and refuse no matter what!

Today was okay, I did about 40 carbs. Can I still lose on that? I don't think so, but maybe I am wrong though. I think I only lose under 25-30. I think some of the weight I have gained may be from working out more but I am not sure. I am hoping to shed a few pounds after tom next week.

I think I need to cut out the coffee (as much as I hate that) Having been a police officer for 4 years I am a total coffee junkie! I think the loss would go alot faster if i cut it out. Anyhow I have the worlds coolest news!!! I talked to my department this week. If I get off diabetes meds and can pass a phisical test with in one year I can go back to work!!!!!!!
Now how is that for a goal! Ohh I am soooo sticking with this. I have been nuts with out working for the last few months. SO here goes. I have to help myself so I can help others!

I hate to be a downer but I am not losing weight! Whenever I have been lately I gain it back. Look at this:

4/12: 144.5
4/14: 144.5
4/16: 142.5
4/18: 142
4/20: 144.5
4/21: 146
4/22: 145
4/24: 145.5

I eat around 2000 calories a day and about 30 carbs. I work out a lot too. Maybe I should cut down my calories but I get hungry all the time! Ugh! And to top it all off my skinny friend was able to lose 15 pounds! I am frustrated and I feel fat and I am only 20 years old. I have been wanting to lose weight since I was 10 but I HATE going hungry.

Ok I just realized something. After looking at my food journal I see that I ate around 1500 calories and 20 carbs a day when i was losing. If I want to lose I need to bring it back down to that. It's hard though! But I guess if I want it bad enough I will do it. I need help.

Ok I just cried for a few minutes cuz everytime I try I have never reached my goal weight but I think my problem might be that maybe I am not in ketosis. Cuz I do get my cravings a lot and I want to snack all the time. I really need to do strict induction to get my body in the right mode. I planned on doing that but I haven't been strict enough. Ok here I go then.
