Diet Soft Drinks without aspartame?

Is anyone familiar with a diet soft drink that does not contain Nutra-Sweet? Dr. Atkins recommends diet soft drinks with Splenda, but I am not aware of any.

Thanks,

Kristi

Diet Rite brand uses Splenda. I think it comes in cola, raspberry, white grape, tangerine....not sure what else. :)

Soft Drinks

I love Diet Rite and their flavors. I drink one about twice a week. I count it as 1 carb because of the Slenda. They are really good.

Waist Watchers....

Tons of flavours and really good. Pricey but worth it!

Arizona makes a line of No carb drinks with Splenda. Diet Icetea, white grape, blueberry..etc. I like them all. Hard to find...Walgreens and Pathmark and 7-11 have them here on Long Island. There is also something called Fruit 2 O, which is lightly fruit flavored spring water sweetened with splenda. Tried the Lemon flavor...was good but not great... BUT it might be good for someone who needs a little boost to their water intake.

If you are a member of BJs they carry Polar flavored sparkling water made with splends. I like it alot better than the Diet Rite.

I drink Diet Rite also. Another is Diet Hansen's...I've tried the black cherry, ginger ale and root beer. There's also peach and strawberry kiwi and more I can't remember. I've found them at Kroger and health food stores.

Do they make caffeine-free Diet Rite?

Diet Rite IS Caffeine-Free [as well as Sodium Free.]

In addition, if you don't mind Caffeine, there's also Diet RC [which is virtually impossible to find, but exists,] and Clover Valley Diet Cola. The Clover Valley is dirt cheap [$0.50 for a 2 Liter and $2 for a 12 Pack] and easy to get [at least on the East Coast.] They sell it at most if not all Dollar General Stores.

Here's a list of products made with Splenda, but that doesn't garuntee they don't also contain other stuff we can't have: http://www.splenda.com/library/asse...withsplenda.pdf

Waist Watchers uses Splenda... it comes in SO many flavors. Ginger ale, chocolate (never tried it, but it might be interesting), black cherry, vanilla, grapefruit (like fresca!), plus all the normal sodas (cola, lemon lime, etc).

Is it Diet Rite who makes the key lime pie flavor?

bcbeauty Sun, Apr-04-04 01:06

Jones Soda makes diet soda and it is sweetened with splenda...And so is Talking Rain Soda which I get at Costco..and it's really great!

Blulady Sun, Apr-04-04 01:23

My newest love - Waist Watchers Vanilla Cream Soda - sweetened with Splenda. I found it at the local grocery store and woohoo only .99 a 2 liter. Yeah!

PecanPie Sun, Apr-04-04 10:22

Hi - Hansen's soda is also great and without aspartame. Most of their flavors are fruity but they have a rootbeer that my friends who love rootbeer say is terrific!

Perhaps it's from a lifetime of nutrasweet-sweetened Diet Coke, but as much as I want to like these Splenda sodas, I can't stomach them. They seem super-sweet and have a nasty aftertaste to me.

triplemom Sun, Apr-04-04 14:14

My favorite Diet Rite is the peach flavored. Sometimes I can find it for 79 cents for a 2-liter bottle, if my grocery store has it on special. I don't much care for the regular cola flavor. The strawberry kiwi is also good.

Anyone remember (or still drink) TAB - the original diet soda from the 70's? I have always liked drinking it since it gave me a totally different taste than my Diet Pepsi.

Anyway...TAB is made with saccharin so I believe it fits with the non-aspartame group.

I always get the strangest looks from people when I ake a TAB in public. Is anyone else here a closet TAB fan like me?

Faygo makes this. :yum: it's my favorite diet pop. The new coconut cream pie flavor is not so great....tastes like suntan lotion.

Costco carry's some drinks called "Ice" that uses splenda. One of their flavors is Key Lime and it is quite good. They also now carry the "Ice" drinks in sparkiling flavors.

Diet Hansens soda is by far my favorite. I love the Ginger Ale, and now the Root Beer. Diet RC cola is my cola of choice, but I agree, it's extremely hard to find.

sydnarella Sun, Apr-04-04 22:14

Unfortunately, TAB has both sacharin AND aspartame in it :( I just looked because I've sworn off aspartame and I have a full 12 pack of it sitting in my pantry.

eddiesgirl Mon, Apr-05-04 05:40

I buy Diet Rite, at Wal-Mart for $2.50 for a 12 pack...I think that is a great deal!! My favorite is the Cola, and the White Gragpe...YUMO!!

Paris Mon, Apr-05-04 07:15

Boylan's diet root beer (4-pack of glass bottles) is made with Splenda and is wonderful! I've found it at World Market and at Trader Joe's.

Kyenz Mon, Apr-05-04 08:17

What about ones in the UK, I live in London and as far as I know we do not have those brands.

Can anyone esle advise of UK soft drinks available

AZ-Jenn Mon, Apr-05-04 11:04

Syndarella - I am now sad to realizr TAB also has aspartame in it :( I'm not sure how I missed that. It's obviously a formula change from the original. Since it's the last ingredient listed, I'm hoping it's at least a miniscule amount. Thanks for pointing it out.

Guess I'll need to go in search of the other options as well. My local Safeway does not carry the Diet Rite/RC brands, so I need to branch out.

bekkers Mon, Apr-05-04 11:09

Paris, I agree, my favorite is the boylan's, although I like the cream soda better myself!
