Christmas Challenge 2005

Ladies and Gentlemen!! We are halfway through the year, and its time to start up the Christmas Challenge!!!!! This is the time when we set our Chrissie goals to melt away those extra pounds (or kg's)! Who can get to goal (or further! :D ) by the 25th of December? Im in for the challenge!! Post your goals and weights and lets work together to become the sexiest bunch of Christmas Elves in history!

Samantha22 Sat, Jun-18-05 19:46

Well...i'm currently 224....and November 1st will be my 1 year LC anniversary.....100 pounds lost in 1 year would put me at 185 by November first....so lets say...i want to be at.............drumline please.....lol......180 by December 25th! Wish me luck, and goodluck to everyone else who joins in on this thread!

Akasha Sun, Jun-19-05 11:27

I will be at my goal weight by then. That is my goal for this December. That would be the best Christmas present ever.

I am at 153 right now, but I am doing a challenge where I only weigh myself once a month, so I won't be updating again until the 15th of July. I hope that is okay. :)

December 25th Goal: 100 lbs!

IAteIt Mon, Jun-20-05 05:21

I would love to join, I am 207 right now. I would love to be 180 lbs at xmas. Right now I am struggling to get below 200 lbs. I will be celebrating the day that the scale says 199 lbs.

Akasha Mon, Jun-20-05 08:56

Welcome, IateIt! You will definately be able to make that goal if you stick with the plan.

I have done great with Induction so far. My salad that I ordered at the resturant last night had very sugary dressing, but I still believe I stayed around 20 carbs for the day. Incorporating the Warrior Diet into Atkins has worked well for me, though my dear boyfriend doesn't particularly like either aspect of my diet.

Have a nice day everyone!

petersn78 Mon, Jun-20-05 17:12

Hi there,
I'd like to join as well. I need some long term accountability and I think this might be it. My weight as of today is 215.6. I'm hoping to be at least in the 170-180 range by Christmas. Heres to lots of pounds lost!! Cheers!

Akasha Mon, Jun-20-05 21:05

Welcome to the challenge, Pete and Bluesfan! :)

I did pretty well today. I allowed myself a helping of low carb ice cream, even though it is a no-no on Induction. I kept my calories low for the day and made sure I went to the gym for an hour.

I am beginning to make going to the gym a habit. I feel so accomplished afterwards and I seriously get in a bad mood if I don't go. lol.

Samantha22 Mon, Jun-20-05 21:08

Akasha..i'm curious what the warrior plan is? could you tell me some basics?

Akasha Mon, Jun-20-05 21:18

Hi Samantha. I posted the info on the WD in your journal. If anyone else is curious, there is a whole thread dedicated to it in the semi-Low Carb board. :)

RhondaK Mon, Jun-20-05 21:26

Count me in. I had already set goal of 145 by christmas so great to have others to do it with. :)
So I am in for 145 in time for Santa.

KaiNiki Mon, Jun-20-05 21:51

I would like to join if I could with a goal of 199 by Santa's arrival.

Akasha Mon, Jun-20-05 22:13

Welcome Rhondak and KaiNiki!

Shirss28 Mon, Jun-20-05 22:17

I'd love to join!

I'd love to join this challenge...I'd love to get down to 140 by Christmas. I can't really ever remember weighing that little but it would be a great Christmas present :). I'm even hoping to take a vacation over our school's winter break so I'll really have something to look forward too!

I'll check-in tomorrow with an "official" number. I was supposed to weigh in for the June Challenge today, but will be doing that tomorrow too. I HATE the scale and just have this feeling after this last week it may not be too good  I guess we'll see tomorrow!

Aussie_Gal Tue, Jun-21-05 00:03

Woohoo! We are in motion! My personal goal is to lose about another 10 kg (roughly 22 pounds by Christmas Eve)! We can do this :D

tardon Tue, Jun-21-05 00:38

How could I not join a challenge started by some called aussie-girl. I am 174 and aiming for 134 just to make it an even 40 lb target. Who else is in my weight/target range...makes it more interesting a challenge within a challenge.
Look out Santa here we come
174.....................................134

Naledi Tue, Jun-21-05 06:45

Hi all,

I also want to join in. Christmas would be a nice time to enjoy the results of the hard work we all do. Well I would also love to reach the goal by Christmas. :agree:

Akasha Tue, Jun-21-05 10:16

Welcome to the challenge, Tardon and Naledi! :)

AprilB Tue, Jun-21-05 11:42

count me in!! i'm at 162 right now and would love to be close to my goal of 125 by christmas. my christmas goal will be 130.

muffles Wed, Jun-22-05 19:44

Hi there! Can I join in? I need something to keep me going! Right now I weigh 94kg and I'd like to be 84kg by christmas! I started december 26th 2004, so it would be really cool to be 30 kg sown by my one year anniversary!
Besides, I'd like to be able to wear a nice pair of togs this year, not the old lady style which is the only style they make in my size!

Akasha Wed, Jun-22-05 19:48

Welcome April and Muffles! The more the merrier.

I am pleased (although I gave into the scale) to say that after a week on Induction and the Warrior Diet, I am down an amazing EIGHT pounds!

That is 145, the lowest I ever got while dieting. Next time I weigh in (in like three weeks), I hope to be the lowest I have been since about sixth grade. :)

Ruby180 Fri, Jun-24-05 01:29

Count me and my carbs in!

I am back on low-carbing after 4 years away -- first time I went from 160 to 130 and kept it off for a year, then my parents died and my husband left me after 14 years, and I began a Binge Thing that got me now to 174!!! But I just decided, three days ago to do Protein Power, and I am back on the road to recovery!

So....I would like to join this Xmas Challenge. I am 174 now, and by Christmas I would like to be 150.... I am hoping that slow and steady will do the job, and I plan to do the gym 3 times a week, 4 if I can.

Ever Hopeful, Always willing

Ruby

tardon Fri, Jun-24-05 06:36

Hi christmas challengers...may we all loose pounds for christmas.
Whats the plan aussie girl, how often should we report our loss and I do mean loss ...no gains at this challenge hey guys :agree:

Akasha Fri, Jun-24-05 09:18

Welcome to the challenge, Ruby! :)

Ruby180 Sat, Jun-25-05 01:08

Getting Going

Well, I have weighed myself after 5 days on PP -- and am down 2.8 pounds.. That feels like a good start to my Christmas CHallenge race. Right now I have a piece of cold salmon left over from last night's dinner, and am contemplating when I am going to get going at the gym! I think my energy is a bit down as I am getting used to the Plan.... Monday is my deadline goal for doing a good workout.
I hope everyone is hearing those sleigh bells ringing for Christmas Success!
Ruby

bluesfan88 Sat, Jun-25-05 07:07

hey everyone , welcome to all the newcomers . we are all going to do great ! good luck:)

Ruby180 Sat, Jun-25-05 23:42

Hey, this is pretty darm good

I am amazed at how comfortable I feel being back in the low-carb groove -- though I am wondering when on PP I can bring fruit in -- I assume that I need to wait till after two weeks or so... What is so great is the not being hungry all the time -- astonshing! I am worried that the berries will tip me back into carb fever, but since it is only DAY 6 for me, I guess I should just relax about it.
Also I don't get how to transfer those strips with weight loss statistics that everyone has on their signatures. Any help on that?
Hope today is lovely and proteinous for everyone! I am down a pound!
Ruby

petersn78 Sat, Jun-25-05 23:49

Yay Ruby for being a pound down! Now that pound better still be down come Monday  Keep it up everyone!

Aussie_Gal Sun, Jun-26-05 01:12

hmm not too sure tardon. Im new to the challenge thing, how bout we post a weekly update of our progress? Maybe this can be a support group rather than pages of statistics?
