Walden Farms Ketchup?!?!?
Hi everyone!! :)
I am a ketchup addict and it is not replaceable with salsa or taco sauce. I have tried Steels Gourmet ketchup, it is good but very sweet. I have not yet tried Atkins or Walden Farms but heard Walden Farms was good. I also heard Keto Ketchup was nasty. Any thoughts? Any input? Any experience? I'm a little creeped out by making my own ketchup. :) |
Have not heard of that catsup but have found Estees sugar free. It ends up having 1 or 2 carbs per 2T. I do not have the bottle here with me so not sure exactly. You subtract the carbs and sugar alcohol and it is very good. Had some for the first time last night.

I like the Westbrae Un-Ketchup (no sweeteners, very tomato-ey), available at Health Food Stores.
I also like the Keto Ketchup, but it's quite sweet to me. Lots of people like it very much just that way (sweetened with only sucralose). I believe the Estee is sweetened with fructose, as are most of their products. I'm not sure about the Walden Farms sweetener and haven't had a chance to try it yet. I prefer a sugarless chunky mild salsa over almost all the ketchups :D |
I'd put in a vote for the Keto ketchup -thought it was really good

Keto ketchup is GREAT
Hey, just wanted you to know that I use keto ketchup and so far it is the ONLY keto product that tastes good. (ok their pancake syrup was ok, but most of their mixes are gross, but I digress...)
I thought the keto ketchup stood up to original heinz ketchup. Keto ketchup is 1 carb per tablespoon. I also mix it with horseradish to make a great cocktail sauce. I havent tried atkins ketchup, simply because the keto is cheaper. I haven't tried walden farms ketchup - but I have tried a few of their salad dressings - and they were quite disgusting. Walden farms makes their products sugar free, fat free and calorie free - so there's no real food in them! Blech. |
ketchup
Atkins ketchup is pretty sweet too, but then I like sweet ketchup. You might try Joke N Al's. I've heard it's delish, but have never tried it myself.
|
I really love the Keto Ketchup, it is sweet and thats what I like.
|
I have the Keto Ketchup (very sweet, fairly tomatoey) and the Westbrae (not quite as sweet, but very good and slightly more tomatoey). I have a slight preference for the Keto, BF prefers the Westbrae. I'll probably get only the Westbrae next time when we've used these up, just because it was (literally) about 1/5th the price of the Keto!
|
I've only had the Keto ketchup and I like it!
|
We buy the Keto ketchup....a nice tomato flavour....Atkins ketchup was too vinegar tasting for us.

I really love the Walden Farms Ketchup :yum:. It tastes just like del monte ketchup! I have tried a lot of their products and I have liked them all (haven't tried the salad dressings though). I won't buy any other brand. I am with you UAgirl, I love ketchup also, and this is the closest one I have tried. I have a couple of bottles in my pantry so I don't run out!

I Love the Keto Ketchup

I use the Walden Farms Ketchup & I love it! Less than 1 g per tbsp. I also use their salad dressings & like them too, so I guess tastes vary. The thousand island & italian are really good less than 1g per 2 tbsp. I use the thousand island on my cheeseburger sometimes for a change of pace. The one flavor I tried & didn't care for was French, which is usually my favorite dressing. Not all the Walden Farms dressings are fat free & none are calorie free, they're all sweetened with Splenda so...

I really like the Keto ketchup. Even my kids like it. Very nice tomato taste and I think it rivals Heinz (my old favorite).
|
I've tried the Walden Farms. It's OK, but not Heinz. Seems kind of bland and sweet to me. When the Walden Farms bottle runs out, I'm going to try something different.

MMMM
Yes I too love Keto Ketchup and at 5 something a bottle it better be good...its sweet and tastes like heniz or someother ketchup I ate as a kid...I love this on burger patties just picks it right up
I have also tried westbrae and it is not sweet...do able but more like tomato sauce, but 2 something a bottle I think Keto ketchup is well worth the extra money and I am a penny pincher...I figue I am only using about 1 Tablespoon at a time so it really last a long time...DH who doesn't eat anything"diet" ate some of my ketchup when he ran out of regular the other day and pronounced it good Good Luck |
Best-tasting LC Ketchup ???
The place i get my LC supplies from sells 3 types of LC Ketchup...
Walden Farms Atkins Ketch-A-Tomato and Keto Ketchup I've tried the Walden Farms one and wasn't overly impressed, although it's better than no ketchup at all. Are either of the other 2 any better? (Bear in mind i'm in the UK and i'm limited to one of these 3 types, really) |
Bump. Sorry.
|
I like the Atkins one - it has a kicky taste, I actually used it with a little garlic and onion powder to season ground buffalo - it ended up tasting like sloppy joes, yum!
|
I like Atkins. I usually combine it with mayo as a condiment for burgers and reuben's, or add dill relish for a salad dressing.
|
I have Keto but have not been brave enough to try it yet. I am not a big ketchup person, but I got it in case I needed to salvage a too-dry burger.

Atkins Ketchup
When I originally purchased the Atkins ketchup, I still had that regular in the house for the kids. (I didnt want to share my pricey LC stuff) My 4 year old threw a fit cause she wanted mommies ketchup. I ended up throwing away the regular. ( I dont think I'm doing anyone a favor supplying them with sugar in any form)
I like the Atkins and My picky 4 year old likes it. Nanci |
I absolutely love the Keto ketchup....its a little sweeter.

Ketchup
Keto is number one with me and my dd's say they can't tell difference. :D
|
Hmm... seems to be an even mix. 50/50 for Atkins and Keto.
I'll leave the thread going a little longer, although i'm tempted to go with Keto if it's sweeter. |
fav ketchup
THe ketchup that I like is Estee brand. I find this to taste the same as regular ketchup.

LC Ketchup
Why not make your own low carb ketchup.....I did off the recipe site on this forum..........Heinz-Like Ketchup......Its great and only 16 carbs for the whole recipe.. Just put all of the following ingredients in your blender and Mix:
6 oz. tomato paste 6 oz. water 1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/4 cup white vinegar 2 1/2 tsp. Splenda (or other sweetner) 1/2 T. salt Enjoy! |
I have had both the Walden Farms and the Keto, and my vote is for the Keto..... I really like the Keto brand of LC products.... I've had their shake mixes, way better than Atkins, the ketchup, and the Kooler drink mix(rare treat). I don't eat bars, but they sell those also.....

Ah good.
Someone else who's tried Walden Farms - that's what i was hoping for. I've found it weird. If you try a bit on its own, or sniff it, it seems horrible but, when eaten with food, it doesn't taste of much at all. Would you say the Keto Ketchup is loads better or is it a close call? |
I haven't had the Walden Farms for awhile, maybe 2 months, but I really liked the Keto better... I had used Keto, then Waldens, then Keto... the Keto seems alittle "richer" more like ketchup to me.... I am on a real vinegar kick lately so maybe thats why..... I find, personnally, that the Keto is slighty less sweet.
