I eat tofu every day. I am peri-menopaus and it caused my periods to return! Natural hormons are better! And, I LOVE Mitzpe-Ramon! |

I used to eat half to a whole one a day, (I LOVE Elite non-sugar chocolate!!!) and I stopped losing, and started gaining, even though I was figuring CAREFULLY the carb content. It acts like carbs in the body I found out. |
My big helper is "Mama Of packages" shishlik, chicken wings, chicken breast and so on.

Hello Israeli!

Hi, Israeli! Nice to see you. I haven't been on here for ages. Haven't been very good, LC-wise, lately! Should be stricter with myself. |
YAY!
Good to see some Israeli replies! I too have not been too good. I got really sick this winter and it trashed my workout plan. Now its so hard to get back to super good low carbing and regular exercise. |
I've been good
I did maitenance during pregnancy and I am now nursing. I have 6 kg to lose, but it will have to wait. I walk 3 km 3 times a week.

back (never really left)
good to see that everyone is forging forward. I'm going to vietnam/thailand soon and if anyone has advice about what to eat guilt free in either of those countries, please share. taking my own sugar free energy bars with me. Want to share one more item that I"ve been really enjoying: some varied flavored, sugarless, low carb diet hot chocolates. check out their site. http://ronandfranks.com/Merchant5/m...tegory_Code=050
The Snick-AAH! Hot Chocolate is great! Tastes like a Sinckers candy bar. Low Carb/Fat Free/ No Sugar Added. 7 oz. Concentrate Bag - makes 24 servings. 20 Calories, 3 shipping is expensive, so you might consider getting a group order together. I always have visitors bring my orders with them. take care and good luck on your food choices |
Hello Israelis! I love shakshouka. Does anyone have a favorite recipe?
|
Quote:
Yeah, an evil one: Barekasim, you know, that FORBIDDEN to LC'ers flaky cheese filled filo-dough pastries they sell here with coffee. AND...Sufganeot! Happy Hannukka! |
No connection between burekas and shakshuka.
I make the easy version - Ingredients Tomato sauce (make sure it has no sugar, the only brand in Israel sold with no sugar is Tal, to be bought at Mega only). Spices: zatar, salt, black pepper Diced tomatoes Diced hot peppers (I like the green long ones) Olive oil Onions 7 eggs Water Okay: fry the onions till almost clear, add the tomatoes and peppers. add tomato past, spices and water. drop in the eggs one by one, careful not to mix them or break the yoke. simmer till the eggs harden Serve hot (best) or cold (not bad either) |

Yeah, I wasn't making any connection, I was making a JOKE, not about recipes, but about how my fave food in Israel was non LC. The easiest rescipe I've ever done is chopped tomatoes sauted in olive oil, then add TONS AND TONS of fresh garlic, then dot with as many eggs as can fit in. Its so tastey. I make that camping out at Hof Nitzanim. |
