Tues 1/26/10:

Front Squats 90lb 12x3 Having no squat rack, I need to
clean & press this first, the lbs are low.
Gotta get one.

Bench Press 135 12x3 Using 4ft curl bar for lack of alternative,
& all the plates I have for it. DW says
I can get a real bar for my BD.

DeadLift 150 10x3
Overhead DB Press(seated) 45lb 12x2,9
Tricep DB Ext 45 12X2,11

No time for the rest. Had to shovel two driveways before work- winter has returned.

Shoveled snow for 50 minutes this morning ( I should have worn my cardio monitor- I was soaked in sweat when I'd finished.)

Afterwards, only had time/energy for the basic 3:

Front Squats (clean bar from floor) 100lb 12x3
Bench Press 140 12x2, 8
Deadlift 150 3x10 (After which I was "dead").

Sunday 1/31:

Walked outside for 30 minutes of so with Kit. Not much cardio
benefit, but it was quite a pretty winter landscape. Cold, though (upper 20s).

I've been looking at how other folks organize their gym logs. I like the idea of keeping (& updating) one entry for a week. I may try that starting tomorrow.

By shameless begging, my wife let me buy my birthday present 3 weeks early. A 7ft Olympic bar, & 2 more 25lb plates. Woohoo! I can stop using an EZ curl bar for bench presses.
Still no power cage in the forseeable future, unless I can pick up one used.

Monday - Sloth-like behavior in honor of wife's birthday. That's
my story, anyway.

Tues-

Front BB Squats (Jerked & Cleaned betw reps) 110lb 10x2,9

Deadlift BB 160lb 10x3

Ack- gotta go shovel snow- damn that Lake Michigan.

Weds-

Treadmill 30:48 avg 136 max 150 (5lb handweights)

Thurs-

DB Squats 55lbx2 10x3
Bench BB Press 155 12x2,5
Deadlift BB 170 10x2,7
No overhead press
BB Triceps Extensions 55 10x2, 8 (form was lousy- new exercise)
EZ Curl Biceps Curl 55 10x2,6 (form OK- new exercise- think it'll be a good one for me)
1 leg Calf Raises 65 10x3
Some misc yoga & ab exercises while coffee was brewing

Friday-

Got a pretty bad sinus infection, and besides two hours (!!!) of snow
shoveling Tues & Weds, did nothing else. Ugh.

Monday


Walked 34 min on treadmill ~ 3.8 MPH. Too grouchy to deal with the heart monitor. Still coughing, but in need of exercise.

Tues

Shoveled snow for 55 frickin' minutes. I must be getting old.

Weds

Treadmill 31:00 w/5lb hand weights Avg 136 Mac 147BPM - not full out yet.

Another 45 minutes of shoveling.

Thurs- Nada

Friday

Week 3/1 - 3/7/10

Mon- Treadmill 30:03 133avg 146max. No hand weights. Back still bugging me. 10min yoga stretches & abs.

Tues , Weds: Nada :(

Thurs: Treadmill 30:00 143avg 176(!!!)max using 5lb handweights. 171 is 100% of my age-adjusted target heart rate. My cardio monitor has a hard-coded target range of 65-85%, so it was beeping up a storm.

Fri:

Squats: 65x2 10x3
Bench: press 140 10x3
Deadlift: 185 10x2,9 Form was GOOD! But I still hate 'em.
Seated OH DB Press: 55x2 9x2,6
Tricep Ext 45x10, 55x10x2
1 Arm Bicep DB Curls: 30 10,6 25x10
1 Leg Standing Calf Raises 65 10,7,5
Abs
