I know, I'm about two weeks late, but can I still join?? I'm just getting off a major non-low-carb binge that lasted weeks... why is it so difficult to get back on track once you're off it?
Well, I've learned my lesson, and here I am. 165 today, wanting to be 150 by July 4th. 15 lbs. goal, I hope, should be possible. My personal challenge will also include running 4x/week: 3 shorter runs on the weekend, one long run during the week. I'll do my best to be accountable, I really want to do this. Welcome to the forum, you are never too late to join. :thup: I understand what you are talking about, I was at goal, actually below goal right before Christmas. I wanted to bring my weight up a little to 128, well, I didn't monitor my weight and as time went on those single pound increments just kept adding up. I'm not going to do that again, this time when I get to goal I am going to be very careful, it is much easier to be careful than try to take the weight back off again. :D Have to go now, will come back later. I would also like to join in on this challenge, but up the stakes for myself. My current weight is 380 my goal is to loose 25 lbs, so making me 355or under by the 4th. I know I can do it, just need to be pushed a bit and hoping this challenge will do it.

Are you planning to lose those 25lbs. on diet alone? I suppose it can be done, guys seem to have an easier time losing. In any case, good luck to you! This is a great way to be accountable to people. I'm out of here for today, will check in tomorrow - be good, all... sue |
A Hoosier (ph: who - shir) is someone from Indiana. No one is for sure on where the term came from. Anyways, diet is going to be the big factor for me, but also going to try and exercise at least 3 times a week on cardio, and 3 or more on weights. Think it'll be a little of a challenge, but am hoping I can get it and more.

It's a beautiful day! How is everyone doing???
Me, I'm good. Loving the sunshine, even though I'm in the office... but I went out in my lunch hour. It's so different, coming out of this long cold winter every sunny day is a major treat. So I'm just cherishing it. Food-wise: doing well. I'm actually reading the South Beach Diet book right now, and it sounds very reasonable to me. I think that after this week - or rather, in two weeks' time, after I'm paid and can afford new food - I'll go on it. More choices, normalizing eating a little, should be a good thing I hope. C'mon guys, check on in and tell us what you're up to! Is everyone out there having fun in the sun? Or are there any poor workers chained to their desks like me? Have a great day! Sue |
Deffinately chained to my desk today, but getting out now to run home for lunch. Think it's raining here though, I can't tell because room I work in has no windows. :( Anyways, heading to lunch, will check back later.

Hi All,
Paula, that is fantastic, you are doing very well. :cheer: Hoosierguy and vienna, I also work but I have a few windows. Weather here in Montana is starting to turn really nice. I rode my bike to work this morning, it was only about 32 but I wore gloves. It warmed up into the 60s this afternoon. I had been riding my bike back to work in the afternoons but this morning I toughed it out and said why not. It is about 1 mile one way so if I ride my bike to work in the morning and again in the afternoon that is close to 4 miles a day. Fantastic exercise. I work downtown so I have to be very careful of vehicles. I do Curves Monday thru Wednesday and try to be as active as I can, I am going to be 60 on June 13th. I have never acted my age, :D even when my sons were teens, at that time I rode a motorcycle. Should go fix dinner, I think I will have some cod and sliced cukes and tomatoes.
