:wiggle: I started induction today! I don't even want to weigh and find out my Holiday carb eating 'damage' Maybe in three or four days if I can go Cheat Free. I am having a really hard time with all of the Holiday goodies still in my house.

I restarted today as well. Did not gain anything over the holidays, although I did nit go wild on eating either. I did notice that I am starting to firm up in some places that I though were a little fleshy.
So far Day 1 has been no sweat. I hope I can keep going for two weeks! Happy New Year everyone! [IMG] |
Fell off the wagon big time the last 2 months so now its back to basics. I could make up all kinds of excuses like not being able to go running because of winter weather etc but the gym and swimming pool is just a couple of minutes away. Hopefully I can just get on with it.

Just hit my preXmas weight of 186 today. Glad it only took a week!

In Oct. and Nov. I was eating maintenance-levels of carbs (only 7 lbs from goal and experimenting to find how many carbs I could eat). Then in Dec. I cut back to <30 or so grams a day and lost another lb. in preparation for my New Year's Eve trip to New Orleans (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=156417). I enjoyed some treats over Christmas and New Year's.
I'm cutting back again, starting today, to try and ditch the last 6 lbs (or more) before my next "fun trip" in July. I'm planning on going to a beach resort (all-inclusive) near Cancun. I want to be lean and mean for the CO beach! When work starts again on Monday I'll get back into my after-work gym routine. I've been treadmill-walking (4.3 mph) over the holiday break but not doing any weights -- I'll be ready to get back into gear with the weights again. Even though my weight loss since May has been slow, the working out has made a difference. My calves and upper arm measurements have increased and my hips/waist measurements have decreased. My BF % has also decreased. I don't know that I'll eat purely induction foods, but I will be limiting the amount of carbs I eat, and hope to get into ketosis again. (I just love it when my partner complains about my "breath"! I tell him it's a "good thing" because it makes me leaner for him.) Happy New Year! Joan |
Me too! Ugh!

Starting over
My husband and I went off of Atkins for a few weeks at Christmas and we both feel terrible now. He's hungry all the time and I'm always feeling queasy. The good thing about all the cheating was that I realized how good I feel when I limit my carb intake. I don't think I'll ever binge like that again. Even over the holidays.
Happy New Year all!!! |
