Sorry Tina I meant to tell you to get better so you can get off that gatorade. My daughter was in the hospital last year and they ran a bag of IV fluid through her. This was on friday and she went to her regular Dr. on Monday and she was dehydrated so bad that blood showed up in her urine. I could not believe it. Hope you are feeling better. It is not good to lose weight because you are sick.

Hey everyone, today was my weigh in day, and im down another lb. putting me at 164. This according to BMI is the highest end of a healthy weight for my height... so in other words I have finally moved out of the overweight category. YAY! 1 more lb and Im at my minigoal!

CindyLynn Sat, Dec-06-03 10:59

Hey everyone!
Thanks for all the advice. I've decided to try adding some nuts to what I'm already eating. I'm also planning what I eat in advance, so I can try to keep everything in balance. Most days I eat between 7-10 cups of veggies. Most are salad(romaine & spinach), but I also try for 1-3 cups of cooked veggies(broccoli, califlower, zucchini, green beans, ect). I'm also wondering if processed emats coudl be bothering me, so I've deicided not to eat peperoni for a while, and see if maybe that could be part of the reason I'm hanging onto all this weight.

About the amount of carbs. (Can't remember who asked) It is said that it's best to as close to 20 as possible. For me anything over 15 is pretty good. It's just said that you get more nutrition benifits if you eat 20 carbs. I realized part of the problem to why I wasn't getting enough carbs. I've been feeling kinda blah lately, and haven't wanted to cook veggies, so instead I've been having massive salads. So for a few days if I wasn't finding somehting I wasn't including in my food choices I only had about 7-8 carbs. Which I don't see as beneficial at all. So I'm working on the problem.

P.S. About the lc bread. Does it contain wheat?

2be-able. Wow you are so close to goal. That is awesome.
Major snow storm here. Probably over 12 inches. Took the kids out at 9:30 tonight to play and shovel a little. It is so beautiful and peaceful. Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. Blessings, Maureen

Hi friends!
I was finally able just now to catch up on the last few days' postings. Aren't we all so thankful for the positive, encouraging replies?

As far as having a hard time with increasing the carbs, I had that same problem in Aug. I was just NOT losing! Nat490 helped me a lot. She is at 30 a day, I believe. I was trying too hard to stay at 20, which I still do, but no longer freak out if it gets to 30. In fact, 30 a day helps me burn the fat better.

Someone mentioned here about less than 20 being bad. You are correct. I read here and in the Atkins book that staying under 20 has zero benefit to us. Our body goes into a starvation mode in a sense, from the way I understand it. You are correct that increasing it will also add the essential minerals and vitamins you need. Nuts are good, also adding even a 1/4 cup of 4% cottage cheese will increase the carbs. Grated cheese on your scrambled eggs are a great way to add hidden carbs, and extra whip cream in the coffee as well. Yum! Try something like those and see if you don't see a positive difference in a few days. Don't give up.

Tina, My goodness, I hope you get on the mend. That flu is so nasty and bronchitis doens't sound fun either. Do not even worry about your carbs. You need those electrolytes right now.

I finally blew it! But I don't feel bad! I ate Doritos yesterday, and at our Alaska Airlines Christmas party (sooooooo fun and soooo huge), I had a reward meal of a piece of pizza and small choc chip cookie. I'm back on track today. Since LC'ing in April I think I can do that.

Congrats on the one pound weight loss, 2B-Able!

Hey everybody, that's great news about TGIF's! Wow! Don't forget you can use their frequent eater card too. In the past I always asked for extra green beans in place of the potatoes. Now we can order an actual meal without the headache of substitutes.

Wish Seattle area had Rudy Tuesdays. Sounds yummy!

Stay warm in the snow, Maureen. We are all better now although Enumclaw has declared a state of emergency, and my girlfriend is still without power since Wednesday. She has a well, so that means no water.
Hugs to you all, Annie

Good morning. Sure hope everyone that is sick has a speedy recovery.

Karen, where did you used to live?

The snow is just so beautiful. Was thinking of making some snowballs and freezing them until summer. This was our first storm of the season. Hopefully we have lots more.

This season I promised my daughter that we would attempt to go skiing. We will be going with another mom and daughter who also have never been. We are all really scared but know it will be fun. This will probably be a once in a lifetime rolling down the slopes laughing our heads off experience. Hopefully I can lose more weight before we go.

Hope everyone has a joyful day. Blessings, Maureen

Good Morning All -

I have a really busy day today, TO DO List takes up a whole sheet :) so I am just checking in for weigh in. Down 1 pound. I think I'm going to have to give in and try FitDay... I'm not ready for my loses to be this slow yet with such a long way to go still... Maybe I'm doing something wrong that I'm not aware of. The thing I really enjoyed about how I was doing this was that I didn't THINK about what I was eating. I'd eat when hungry and then only very LC things... I don't want to have food be on the forefront of my mind all the time again...Blabbering on here trying to think on paper... don't know if I'm making sense.

I pray everyone who is sick has a speedy recovery, be sure and pamper yourselves!!! When I was sick a month ago, I cooked some coleslaw cabbage and ham in a little water with salt and pepper. Boy did that hit the spot. Boiled dinner w/o the potatoes and carrots, but I didn't even miss them it tasted so good...

We have such an awesome group of ladies here! Again I have to tell you all how much you bless me and how thankful I am to have found you!!!

Hi everyone. I'm down 2. Not what I was hopping for but ok. I don't actually count my carbs but guestimated about 80. I also may start using fitday.

angieK Mon, Dec-08-03 09:24

Hi everyone
I stayed the same this week. I am okay with that for this week. It seem s I tend to lose more at the end of month then the beginning. Take care and stay away from that flu.
