thank you so much for your imput mammac-5. i have recently found som e recipes for homemade fruit snacks using sugar free gelatin. i also made a batch of granola bars with pureed apples instead of sugar . they, meaning my daughter and my husband , loved them. its going to take some extra work and planning. but Ithink it will catch on and someday they willl thank me for it! :D

There are a couple of good old cookbooks "Feed Me I'm Yours" and teh "Taming of the C*A*N*D*Y Monster" that I used to rely on.

Those cookbooks date back to the 70's, but have a lot of lower-sugar recipes for granola, cookies, less-sugar cakes and the like. Some of the info might be outdated, but I still use a lot of the recipes just because they taste good and the kids liked them.

Potatofree, those were great cookbooks. I remember using them when my oldest was little (turns 27 tomorrow - where does the time go??!!) I loaned my copies to my family members. I wonder if I can track it down. I would love to have a couple of the receipes.

I've found some good old cookbooks at Ebay in the past...might want to give that a try.
