hello everyone, im new here and im still trying to learn how to find my way around in here. My question is this, is it possible to be in ketosis (my sticks are purple,) but not loose much weight? today is day 20 and i have lost a little but not as much as i expected. maybe im just being impatient but im so anxious to get this fat off. if anyone could answer my question, i would be so thankful.

Hi there.
You know, I really wish Dr Atkins had never mentioned the dreaded ketostix. Showing positive on the darned things can mean lots of things, from not drinking enough water, eating lots of fat, drinking any alcohol, starving yourself, or indeed actually burning fat. On the other hand, many, many of our most successful losers have consistently only shown a negative response to the stix. So you can see why I think peeing on a bit of plastic is a waste of time and money. ;)

If you go to "Tips" on the green menu bar at the top of the screen, you will find more info about Ketosis and Ketone test Strips.

Meanwhile, how about listing some of your regular menus (in your journal would be a good place), and perhaps we can figure out what's going on for you.

All the best.

Thanks for bumping this! I love it! I had a visit from the Woosh Fairy last week! 3 pounds down! I'm almost in the 170's. I don't turn the pee stix colors, but I do lose a lot of fat. 114 pounds gone--no thanks to a little plastic stix!

Sunny!

Doing Doctor Atkins?
Then read the book, my dear!

Prefer another eating plan?
If LC, all work well.
Just get that information
And everything will gel.

Want to try and wing it?
Please don't even try
You need the information
So find the book, then buy.

Feeling somewhat dizzy?
Potassium you need.
Feeling awfully hungry?
Well, have yourself a feed.

Don't try to do it low cal
You'll slow the weight loss down
And also - you'll lose muscle.
And won't that make you frown!

Having painful leg cramps?
That hurts, I know it does.
You may need calcium tablets
With magnesium becuz...

...They work the best together -
Cal Mag as two to one
One thousand and five hundred
You'll need. It can be done!

Poo is seeming different?
Either hard or loose?
Try some psyllium powder
And don't be such a goose!

Wee is also different?
Gone a funny yellow?
It's only the B vitamins
No need to roar and bellow!

Coming out in bruises?
Gums are sore and bleeding?
Yep - it's supplements again.
It's Vitamin C you're needing.

Craving lots of sweet stuff?
Then keep Induction "clean."
Avoid the "false and funny" foods
And try L-Glutamine.

And don't forget to exercise
At home or in the gym.
You'll burn that fat much faster then
And soon be looking slim.

Worried

It's been 3 weeks there about and I started off loosing, now I seem to be gaining...could trace amounts of sugar in mayo be to blame...or not enough of something... how absolutely exact is the chemistry? Or is it my age...73... wondering...

SilverEm Fri, Apr-20-18 06:21

Thank you very much for the poem. It is so cute, and I need the chuckle. :rose:
