LC places to eat in Toon Town

Hi Arnie,

Considering Stoon has the highest number of restaurants per capita in the country (read that somewhere a few years ago) you shouldn't have any trouble. I guess it depends on what your tastes are. There's a Bonanza on 8th Street where you could have steak or chicken plus salad bar and is also reasonably priced. The Keg moved to 8th Street as well and there's a new Montana's opened there as well, both a little pricier with the former the more expensive of the 2. I had an excellent experience at Grainfield's on Circle Drive this morning where they were very accomodating about my breakfast order and they serve breakfast, lunch and supper.

Even McDonald's is getting used to dealing with me asking for NO BUN...LOL. If you're up for Vietnamese try Hao's Garden on 8th Street as well. I've found that every place I've gone in Saskatoon to be more than willing to give me what I want, and they should, being that a happy customer is a return customer. I've you're looking for a coffeehouse, Joe Beans on 8th is the ONLY place that carries and uses the SF Da Vinci Syrups, you can even buy a bottle or 2 to take with you.

Hope this helped!! Have a safe trip in June!

Great info on Saskatoon. I will have to remember to pick up that syrup next time I'm there. I get it ordered from Vancouver right now.

Any one camping this summer...what are some good spots.

ohhhhhhh...camping

I love going to Jackfish Lake up past North Battleford (near Cochin). They've got some nice spots and the lake is shallow but clean, at least it was the last time I was there in 1999. Good Spirit lake is supposed to be nice to but I've never been. When I was a kid we used to rent a cabin at Kimball Lake in Meadow Lake Provincial Park but I haven't been there in years. They started getting "the itch" when I was a kid and we didn't ever go back. Greig Lake is in the same area but has more of a rocky shore than sand.

Hi fellow Saskatchewanians

Nicole pointed me in the direction of this forum, so thought I'd come say hi.

I live in S'toon and enjoy lots of those restaurants. My low carb requests have never been turned down or looked at funny. I like to take my kids out for breakfast and I usually just order omelet or bacon and eggs and ask them to hold the starchy stuff and add a tossed salad. Haven't been refused yet. I haven't tried asking McD's to hold the bun - I just toss 'em.

Sask has lots of great camping spots - Memorial lake, Emerald lake, Chitek lake, Emma lake, etc.

Has everyone been enjoying the thunderstorms lately?

I love storms but they seem to keep passing us by. Made like it was going to be the storm of the century last night and then it blew over after 10 drops of rain fell. Wish it would pour and break this heat! LOL All we do is complain about winter and then do the same about summer once it's here.
