Hey Skelk, maybe set a smaller goal. You know, something closser to what your actualy drinking but make yourself maintain that number of oz's for a while. Sort of a induction for water drinking.
Week 2 11/17/03 =112 oz 11/18/03=112 oz 11/19/03=118 oz 11/20/03=118 oz |
My son bought some large glasses so I decided to take one for myself it measures 20 oz so I keep filling that up.
|
Can I join too? I was doing wonderfully in the water department, but now seem to have slacked off. I need a challenge and a buddy to keep it up.
Let's see: at 1/2 my weight, I'm talking 139 ounces, or 17+ 8-ounce cups. Good thing I have a 32 ounce Nalgene! (which, if I fill it up all the way to the screw-on lid, actually is 36 ounces. I measured.) So if I drink 4 of those, plus a glass or 2, I'll be okay. Or living in the bathroom. Or both. Jude |
hey everyone boy did I slack off yesterday. 69oz. part of the problem is that I went to a friends right after work. I need to plan a little better if im going to do those things int he future.
11/17/03 =112 oz 11/18/03=112 oz 11/19/03=118 oz 11/20/03=118 oz 11/21/03=118oz 11/22/03= 69 oz |
Careful chewing on ice. cracks teeth.
I keep a gallon water jug on my counter, and i never allow my glass to go empty. |
P.S. Another thing I like to do in winter, steep fresh ginger in a little sauce pot on the stove and strain into a jug. add a little ginger juice to your green tea, or to your glass of water. Ginger is good at keeping the flu away, and keeping your tummy well.

Ginger juice sounds really good. I lost track today--really! Nalgene before school, 1 liter at school (slow day in the water department), 24 ounces (2, 12 ounce glasses) at dinner--whoops, I need more! 36 + 33 + 24 ? 139! So--time to tank up!

Yesterday was good. About 120 oz or so. I notice that the minute I get to my goal I stop. I am still not digging the water. But as long as I'm getting it done...

Nine days of this and my bladder isn't objecting nearly as much. I'm really finding that the more I drink the more I want. Especially at night, I'm waking up with a dry mouth and throat. Anyone else noticing that?
|
my water drinking is terrible, but still losing weight, so hey, who am I to complain!
|
Hey how is everyone doing on their water intake? Us Americans just had thanksgiving and there are always tastier things I cold indulge in. I pretty much stuck to form and continued to drink my 118 or so a day. I need to find a new suppliment thoguh, i'm almost out of my Atkins stuff. I would rather just do one multivitamin and call it a day.

I really fell down on the H2O job during the break. Going back to work tomorrow and being back in routine should help. Here goes the bladder again. . .
|
ok..I'm in! I barely drink any water and am hooked on Crystal Light. I just finished my last bit of Crystal Light and will switch to water immediately.
By Gabrielle's calculations, I will need to drink 109 oz per day...oi. I'll need to pre-plan this one. Here's to hoping. Robyn |
Most days at school, I don't have a problem getting the water in; but out of school? Weekends and breaks? You'd think there wasn't any available! It's not that I drink other things--I just don't drink anything until I look up and realize that that dry mouth I'm feeling is because another huge tract of time has passed with no liquid passing my lips!
That's why I'm with this challenge; to keep myself on track. Jude |
Ooh, ooh, Gabrielle, let me know what supplement you find! I, too, have a really hard problem taking 3 pills a day.
~~Amaara (wanting to do the water challenge, after she finishes getting the exercise routine established. One baby step at a time...) |
