I should be able to get a workout in tomorrow and maybe even Tuesday morning before I fly out. Note to self: It is so much easier working out if I can stay consistent instead of taking days off in between!!! |
I was doing fairly decent with workouts before I left...and now it's been a whole week since I've had a workout. I did get on the treadmill tonight despite giving piano lessons after school until 6:00 and having a volleyball game. I squeezed 40 minutes in and it felt good.

Got a good workout in today and yesterday, I really want to get back into running a bit longer in my intervals but after taking last week off, I'm struggling to get back in the groove. Looking forward to getting some yoga in this weekend.

I did break a huge sweat and felt it a lot more than my previous days workouts. Hoping to get in 30 min of yoga tonight. |
Looking into the idea of HIIT, just to add a little more intensity to my workouts. My normal "40 min - 3 mile" workout with a couple of intervals just gets boring. As I started to look into HIIT I realized that interval training is good but I really need to up my intervals to get more of a benefit. Yesterday and today I was able to keep a steady 5 mph jog with 30 secs of faster running, yesterday I was at 6.5, today I bumped it up to 7.5 - it felt good, my legs had pretty much no feeling left after 15 mins of intervals. I did complete a cool down for a total of 30 minutes but I could tell I got a good workout.
I will probably end up doing more of a steady 5 mph jog tomorrow and then try HIIT on Wed and Fri. I hope to run some 5K's this Spring so hopefully this will help...I cannot wait until it warms up so I can hit the road with my ipod! Okay, so this week was pretty weak for workouts...I think I may have overdone it the past couple weeks. No workouts Mon-Thurs - finally got a good cardio workout in tonight. I will get some cardio and yoga in tomorrow.

There were a few times this week that I almost decided not to do a workout but I reminded myself to try and get at least 30 minutes in. Even if it is not doing a lot for me physically, it helps to keep me in the routine...hopefully I'll add some yoga in this next week :wiggle: |
