It sounds to me like Atkins doesn't suit you. Have you heard of the insulin resistance diet? It is covered in the plans section here if you want to read it. It is a diet that is moderate protein, moderate carb and low fat. There is no cal counting involved and it is a plan that can be followed for life.

The authors mention cases like yours and state that ppl who gained on high protein diets did better on this plan. Check it out and maybe try for a week, after you give your body a break from all diets.

P.S: Maybe you need medication. I have PCOS and I.R. and cannot lose without my medicine

Take Care

Julie:

If the Atkins doesn't work for you but you are serious about getting the weight off, you should consider signing up at a gym and setting yourself a workout plan.

Don't start off by setting something too high - set something easy, like walking a mile on the treadmill or something - don't even jog!

If you start a plan that's too difficult too soon, you'll get bored and not want to continue - if you start off light and keep going up you'll fell like you're making big progress (which you are), and that is usually motivation enough

Julie, did you read TSPII? :read: As a slow loser, I'm very curious about it now, so I'm going to run out and get it today.

A couple of recommendations--you might post a few days of what you've been eating so experienced LCrs (don't think I qualify yet) can give you input. In addition, exercise is non-negotiable (as they say in Protein Power). When it comes to fat loss, strength-training makes a big difference. I found the book Body for Life very inspirational.

Don't give up! You can do it. Keep experimenting, and you will hit on the right program for you. But again, exercise is key!!
