I don't think don't water minimizes weight gain...
 
I'm not a dr. or anything, but the only thing (I think) drinking tons of water after a meal of cheating would do is prevent against water retention. Earlier in this thread, I think Nat wrote about how carbs encourage your body to retain water so....drinking lots of water will probably just prevent that and your weight would reflect that.?.

Here's what she said:

Hi.....

I agree with Nat abt drinking more water to remove excess water.

From what i have done~~ the buffet meal was 2 days ago. I have drank more water than before.....plus keeping my carbs under 20g....I find that I am somewhat back on track again.

Previously I had a birthday feast which i also ate all sorts of foods. Without drinking more water, it took me abt 3 days to clear and get back on track, with abt a kg gain in the 2nd day.

I dont know whether this personal experience counts, but definitely thanks to Nat for giving this great tip! :thup:

I just wanted to tell everyone after I posted the original thread on Day 16 of my Atkins diet, I had jumped from 163.5 on Day 11, to 168 on Day 15 b/c I had stopped drinking between 75 to 100 oz. of H2O a day. Now at the end of Day 18 I am now at 163 :Party: .

So it's crazy how much H2O your body will retain when you tease it. All I know is it took me 3 days to rehydrate myself, and I have never cheated. If it isn't water that I need (it's excess like Nat said), I don't want it:)

And if I can lose up to 9 lbs. of H2O weight (I'm sure I have that much b/c before Atkins, I never drank water) and 2lbs. of fat weight/wk. looks like by Day 21 (in 3 days) I COULD be 15 pounds lighter :daze: :roll: :daze:
I'm not trying to put any pressure on, but I can already see those pants from three years fitting perfectly...I love LCing :D

So my moral is DRINK WATER, DRINK WATER, and DRINK MORE WATER for the rest of my life;)
