Pam, you might try asking your doctor about Yasmin BCP. I had lots of interim spotting plus my regular periods on my old pill. Before I had kids I barely had a period when on the pill, but something about giving birth changed all that and I felt like I was having TOM three weeks out of every month. I requested, and my OB approved, that I be able to take Yasmin on a three week rather than a four week cycle. That is, as soon as you finish day 21, you start a new pack. That way you don't have a period AT ALL -- yay! Every fourth month or so you can continue a pack into the fourth week to generate a period, just to make sure everything's hunky dory.

Yasmin apparently has a mild diuretic effect and many members here have had good luck with it (do a search on this forum). It has not impeded my weight loss, although I was on it at the time I started Atkins. Good luck!

I am on Depo Shot and haven't had a period in over a year. It's kind of nice. And I haven't noticed any weight gain from it.
