There's an excellent recipe for Deep Dish Pizza Quiche in the recipe forum. It's under main dishes. If my link doesn't work just do a search for it in the main dish forum.

It's so good. It's not quite the same as a crust, but a very close second and even good cold. It's become a favorite of mine and my husband, and I don't even crave real pizza crust anymore.

Amusing thread. :D I have trouble with the pizza thing, mainly because at my place, it's generally consumed after an evening of rum-and-diet-cokes. Alcohol does a number on willpower. ;) However: I've developed the fine art of the stealth bun toss. I rip off about a third of the top and bottom bun, then just keep pushing the meat forward. To the casual onlooker, I'm just taking normal bites of the burger. :yum:

lol! Thats exactly what I do with my bun when I'm eating hamburgers. With a little practice, you can even successfully drive, eat a burger, and carry on a cell phone call with your mother - all without catching any of the bun.

I haven't gone to a pizza buffet and learned the toss the crust thing yet. I just make the lc pizza quiche. As for the bun toss though, it does bother me. Ecspecially when there is alot of cheese attached. Ok, everytime I ask for a hamburger without bun, I get one anyway. GRRR.

I've found substitutions that work well for me:

Portabella pizza caps instead of pizza crusts (this only works if you like mushroom pizza, but I do and it does!)

Alfredo sauce on sauteed spinach instead of pasta (yumboy! you gotta try this one)

and my burgers I cover with onions, dill pickles, mustard, and sometimes mushrooms so that I really don't miss the bun.

In fact, I had a wild experience the other night, my husband took me out to my favorite restaurant and I ordered a wrap (a major weakness for me.) Usually I just eat the insides, but this time I had a few bites of the wrap. Tasteless! Really, it tasted to much better WITHOUT the wrap.
I think I'm cured.

I agree Adkpam, the carbs I had over thanksgiving were tasteless and unsatisfying. I was very dissappointed and kind of ticked that I cheated and got no enjoyment from it. ;) I prefer guacamole with celery to chips now, and burgers with no bun.. more flavor that way. :)
